Olivia Dunne had it tough as comments to her April 22 Instagram share mounted up. Despite earning over 400,000 likes as she shared gymnastics-centric photos that included her in a sparkly leotard, the 21-year-old LSU gymnast was slammed by many, largely for allegedly not competing in the photos she posted about in a celebratory manner.
While some sent Olivia love as she flaunted her enviable physique and smiled with her teammates, others challenged the whole thing, even asking what she “did” and telling her that she “didn’t do anything.” Olivia has not responded to the remarks. The NCAA athlete did, however, gain celebrity attention as actress Denise Richards’ daughter Sami Sheen left a like.
Olivia Dunne Goes Full Gymnast On Instagram
Opening her gallery smiling as she rocked her signature leotard, Olivia showed off her toned silhouette in a skintight, long-sleeved one-piece in black. Shouting out the LSU Tigers’ purple via paneling that also mixed in pops of gold, the Forever 21 ambassador kept her look girly via shimmery metallic studding forming a glitter finish to the fabrics.
Placing one hand to her waist as she took a pause from competing, Olivia flashed her pearly whites while wearing a purple bow in her hair, and there was more for fans who swiped. Holding a large NCAA cup with a fellow athlete in the second photo, Dunne smiled again for the camera, with a further photo showing her kissing the trophy.
Fans Saying She Literally Did Nothing
The gallery continued with a National Champions sign, plus plenty more competing moments as Olivia celebrated her team. Two weeks ago, LSU landed its first-ever national title at the NCAA gymnastics championships.
“Special teams, special players,” Olivia wrote.
Seemingly out to torment her, one fan replied: “Literally didn’t even compete.” Backing her up, though, another fired back: “Competed a large majority of the year deserves it just like all her teammates.”
“What did you do tho?” a further fan asked. Possibly agreeing, one fan said: “This is everything wrong with America. Attractive bench warmer is the face of the sport.” The comment gained over 100 likes. This comment led to a discussion of when gymnasts “peak” — given that Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin retired aged just 22, it’s young.
“Feel like she just has dealt with a lot of injuries more so then peaked. But yea I get what you are saying you aren’t doing gymnastics really in your mid 20s unless you are like Simone biles and liv is a really good gymnast but definitely not that caliber,” one said, name-dropping Olympian Simone Biles.
