Over the past few weeks, Billboard has been gradually unveiling its list of the Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century. To no one’s surprise, A-listers like Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna landed in the Top 10. While Justin Bieber successfully ranked on top as well, his wife, Hailey Bieber, felt like he should have been higher. Since his placement was already impressive, fans called out the model for starting unnecessary drama. Some even went so far as to call her an “attention seeker.”
The Hailey Bieber Billboard Drama Explained
Every week, Billboard has been unveiling a few artists at a time for its list of the Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century. Those who made the Top 25 included major names like Katy Perry, One Direction, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, and Eminem. After waiting patiently to find out who made the Top 10, Billboard finally unveiled its list recently. Coming in at No. 10 was Adele, while No. 9 was Ariana Grande. The No. 8 spot was reserved for Justin Bieber.
Although the top two acts haven’t been revealed just yet, Kanye West, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Drake, and Rihanna all beat Bieber in the Top 10. Considering all of these artists have accomplished so much, fans were proud to see Bieber’s name listed among them. So, when Hailey Bieber expressed her disappointment with her husband’s ranking, many fans were left feeling confused since they thought she would be happy.
“Billboard is a f*cking joke as per usual,” the Rhode founder wrote alongside a screenshot of Justin Bieber’s ranking. She signed off her diss to the publication with a kiss emoji.
Some fans agreed with Hailey that Justin Bieber should have been higher since he “helped shape pop culture.” However, others felt his placement made sense and that Hailey was wrong to call out Billboard. “She needs to grow up,” one person wrote. “So pressed and for what?” another comment read. “She’s such an attention seeker,” another person said.

Justin Bieber grew to become a household name when he was just a teenager. After posting videos to YouTube, the singer caught the attention of talent manager Scooter Braun and eventually landed a record deal. He released his debut single, “One Time,” in 2009, at just 15 years old. Since then, Bieber went on to release multiple No. 1 albums and became one of the biggest names in the music industry.
In recent years, Bieber has taken a step back from music to focus on his personal life. After marrying Hailey in 2018, the couple went on to welcome their first child, Jack Blues Bieber, this past August.
Although Bieber hasn’t revealed when his next album will drop, he’s been hinting on social media that he’ll be making his comeback soon. Fans can’t wait to hear what he has in store next.
