Hailey Reveals Her Frozen Fury in The First Descendant Season One Teaser

Ready, aim, freeze

The First Descendant has seen some highs and lows already, but it’s charting a course for another high with Season One. Kicking the new season off with Invasion, Nexon is hoping to expand the game (and rekindle player enthusiasm) with several significant additions to the game. These reportedly include a new dungeon, boss, and weapon, but one addition stands above them all: Hailey. This sniper Descendant and her ice-themed kit are eye-catching, even in a brief teaser trailer like this one. Here’s what we know so far.

The Next Descendant Chills With Season One

#TheFirstDescendant Season 1 Invasion Update is fast approaching! Check out the teaser to uncover the lurking threats, and get ready to step into battle as Hailey, the sniper Descendant, on August 29th! pic.twitter.com/E4D0NHBg9D

Despite a new dungeon, skin, weapon, and more coming in Season One, Hailey stands out as the big reveal. Info on the new character is scarce, but two big details have been confirmed: she’s a sniper, and she plays nice with ice. This frozen focus will set her apart from other Descendants, but in some ways, her sniper specialization is even more interesting. Compared to characters like Blair who excel in close-range confrontations, Hailey’s deadly dance of distance might be chill.

The battles probably won’t be so chill for whoever’s on the receiving end of her rifle, though. At the end of the teaser, Hailey charges a massive energy beam in a frozen, mountain area. Everything about that shot says “bad time.” Her stance (and the rifle’s gorgeous wind-up SFX), sell the weight of the shot before it’s even fired. The whole set-up raises my hopes that the rest of Hailey’s kit will look and feel just as impressive. If they do, Season One may be in a good position to reward loyal fans of The First Descendant and win back some of those who’ve strayed. Let’s hope Nexon’s aim is just as deadly.
