It has already been two decades since Halle Berry starred in the iconic Catwoman as Patience Phillips. On Tuesday, the actress jumped on social media to celebrate the film’s milestone in the most purrfect way. Taking to Instagram, Halle Berry shared photos featuring her and two cats, capturing the essence of her feline alter ego. In the pictures, the 57-year-old posed topless, wearing only black panties. She posed, standing up and lying in bed confidently, her breasts artfully shielded by her two strategically placed cats, Boots and Coco. Berry took the Catwoman look further, finishing with a black and white cat-eye mask.
“And STILL…meow! It’s been 20 years today since I had the honor of bringing this iconic character to life,” the Academy Awards winner wrote in the caption.
Halle Berry noted that Catwoman would always be close to her heart, and she would forever be Patience Phillips. Halle Berry shared some info about her cats at the end of the write-up. The star revealed that she rescued them after they showed up in her yard, searching for their mother.
“Thank you @missjee79! When these black beauties showed up in my yard searching for their mother, Jee helped us through the rescue process. Forever grateful! ❤,” she wrote.
In no time, Halle Berry’s Catwoman anniversary post garnered thousands of reactions from fans. Many couldn’t believe 20 years had passed already since Berry played the role. They also gushed over how great the Oscar winner looked in the photos. Released in the US theaters on July 23, 2004, Catwoman was a significant milestone in Berry’s career. The action/thriller made $82.4 million at the worldwide box office on a $100 million budget, per Box Office Mojo. During a chat with Entertainment Weekly earlier in July, Berry shared details of her preparation for the enigmatic character. She also told the outlet she was given a cat named Playdough. “I watched, studied, and learned how cats think,” Berry said. Following the role, the actress fully became a cat person and has since rescued many cats.
