Since its debut with Combat Evolved, the Halo series has been designated as the go-to Co-Op FPS when you want to play through an entire action-packed story mode with a buddy. Unfortunately, Halo Infinite was released on December 8, 2021, without the series’ staple Co-Op Campaign feature. Developer 343 Industries has promised it will be patched in later, but when will it be released exactly?
Halo Infinite Co-Op Campaign Release Date
343 Industries had already announced that the Co-Op feature for Halo Infinite Campaign would be released in Season 2. Season 2 was previously planned for March, but the launch has been delayed for up to six months and might begin in May 2022 instead. With that in mind, both Xbox and PC players will have to wait until around halfway next year to explore Zeta Halo with their friends.
Nevertheless, for now, a Twitter user @nobleactual has found a glitch that lets you play Halo Infinite in Co-Op split-screen on Xbox. However, this method comes with several caveats: One, player two will have no HUD elements. Second, FOBs and story levels are broken. Third, it’s not really easy to do. Fourth, doing this will completely wipe your saves. nobleactual themselves has restricted their tweet, but you can see the glitch in action from Rito’s video below.
If you’re ready to delete your save in a hard but fun way, then follow nobleactual’s step-by-step here:
- Start Halo Infinite in offline mode.
- Connect the second controller then sign the second controller to an Xbox account.
- With the first controller/player one’s, start the Campaign mode.
- Once you’re in-game, hit Start and then Back.
- On the second controller, hit start to add the second player to the Fireteam.
- If you did it correctly then you should activate the Halo Infinite co-op glitch.
