Gotham’s favorite clown princess is back with a new anthology series; Harley Quinn: Black + White + Redder. The six-issue series is a follow-up to 2020’s Harvey award-nominated Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red. Launching this summer, the anthology brings together some of the best and brightest in comics to tell some new Harley Quinn stories.
Harley Quinn: Black + White + Redder
Kicking things off is Batman writer Chip Zdarsky as he teams up with Justice League artist Kevin Maguire in the debut issue. Together, the duo tells a story that teams Harley Quinn up with Poison Ivy. The two sometimes-villains find themselves in the heart of Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, writer Leah Williams and artist Natacha Bustos send readers into Harley Quinn’s past. We see the future psychiatrist as a high-flying gymnast looking to get some revenge.
Elsewhere in the issue, actor Paul Scheer joins co-writer Nick Giovannetti and artist Tom Reilly for a story featuring Harley and Gaggy Gagsworth. The original Joker sidekick helps Harley in a heist, so long as they don’t kill each other first.
The first issue is set to launch sometime in July. It features a main cover by Bruno Redondo and variants from Stanley “Artgerm” Lau and Guillem March. There is also a 1/25 ratio variant from Tom Reilly and a 1/50 ratio variant from Kevin Maguire.
The Year of Harley
It is shaping up to be a big year for the Clown Princess of Crime. In the world of comics, Harley is screwing things up in Multiversity: Harley Screws Up The DCU. Not to mention she is currently starring in her own series from Tini Howard and Sweeney Boo. Meanwhile, Harley is about to grace the silver screen yet again. This time around, Lady Gaga is set to portray the iconic character in the sequel to 2019’s Joker.
