While she usually plays the role of a villain, Harley Quinn’s arrival this time around is actually a good thing, because she’ll be doing so in the form of a new attraction: the Harley Quinn Spinsanity. Coming in 2018, the Spinsanity will feature in the Gotham City area of Six Flags Over Texas and seat 24 patrons at one time.
The ride is constructed in a three-fold box-like design that allows it to move forward back, up, down, left, right, and twist and rotate in all sorts of crazy ways. Needless to say, it would be a good idea not to eat much of anything before strapping yourself into this one. Just a thought.
If you’ve been to Six Flags Texas or Georgia, you may be experiencing some confusion. It turns out this is not the first ride to be named Harley Quinn Spinsanity. In Texas, there was a crazy leg ride given that name, while Georgia featured a whirling cup ride. But the Spinsanity planned for next year is an entirely original design. Almost – there’s apparently a Cyborg-themed ride using this setup at Six Flags Great Adventure. Harley Quinn, we love you, but you need a lesson in originality, especially if you’re going to name all of your rides the exact same thing.
Six Flags Over Texas opened on August 5, 1961 in the city of Arlington. It covers an impressive area of 212 acres and is open every month of the year except February. There are tons of upcoming events this month, including Dance Fest, Praise on the Mountain, Roller Coaster Race, Fright Fest, and the Church Youth Celebration.
No word on exactly what date the ride will open to the public, but you can bet the line for admission will stretch on for a while. Just make sure you’re in the right line when you go – you know, because of that whole name-sharing thing they have going on.
