Seeing people be truly happy is a beautiful thing. Unfortunately, not everybody will share in your happiness. Sometimes, people want you to drop down to their level of misery. A woman traveling on a flight from Boston to Las Vegas shows how deep that misery can go. The pilot announced a couple celebrating their marriage, she was not feeling it. Now, commenters are letting her know that it’s not a good look for her.
Liz Miller (@lizmillercomedy) posted a TikTok video that took place on a flight from Boston to Las Vegas. She captioned the photo, “My face when the pilot congratulates ‘the newlyweds’ on a 7:55 a.m. SUNDAY MORNING flight from Boston to Las Vegas… Society has the biggest hard on for marriage make it stop.” In the video, you can see her face going from one of calm to one of horror during the announcement. As everybody around her claps, she looks disgustedly into the camera.
Now, it’s okay to be against marriage on a personal level. Marriage definitely isn’t for everyone. But how does this marriage and their happiness have any impact on Liz? Instead of being happy for them, she decided to react with hatred and that’s a lot of the issue we see in our modern times. Liz states in the caption,“I slept 90 minutes and have a pimple with its own gravitational pull/orbit and I’m supposed to care about these f**k a*s people?!?!?!” Rude.
Commenters agreed that Liz may just be reacting to the announcement with jealousy. One commenter said, “This screams jealousy, and a desire to be the people they just congratulated. I know, because I was like that at a time in life. Feeling lonely, and bitter towards other people’s happiness and wanting to have that kind of connection to someone myself. Yes, society does love marriage, because people love, people want to be loved, and people want someone to be committed to.” Another person stated, “If people getting marries is triggering for you, I might take a deep long look in the mirror.” Liz replied, “Only the pimple stares back.” Whatever you say, Liz.
