Game of Thrones series finale has been a roller coaster of emotion this week. Some have been positive feedback and others have been not so much. Petitions have been made by hardcore fans to redo season 8 or have sequels be made but HBO has a different stance.

The president of programming for HBO, Casey Bloys, believed that a remake of the last season and sequels would be an unwise move for the company. In a recent interview by The Hollywood Reporter, they got to have a one-on-one talk with Casey Bloys on the matter. When asked about the criticism of the final season and the conversation had to make more episodes or seasons he responded with,

No, I cannot talk you through that decision. The guys have known what they’ve wanted to do for a long, long time. They’ve had a plan in their mind. I’ve been on the record saying I’d take five more seasons.

More questioned were addressed about the decisions and trial or errors went through to get to the conclusion of the series. The interviewer then asked about George R.R. Martin confirming three scripts for prequels to Game of Thrones and the progress of those. Casey Bloys was very dodgy with clarifying his answers.

After prequels were being confirmed curiosity was brought up about whether sequels would be worked on in the near future. Casey seemed incredibly blunt about addressing his opinions by stating,

Nope, nope, nope. No. Part of it is, I do want this show — this Game of Thrones, Dan and David’s show — to be its own thing. I don’t want to take characters from this world that they did beautifully and put them off into another world with someone else creating it. I want to let it be the artistic piece they’ve got. That’s one of reasons why I’m not trying to do the same show over.

Game of Thrones series finale has ended this year by being one of the most monumental moments in television history. The last episode, alone, had close to 19.3 million people tuning in. With the series finally, at an end, more doors and potential spin-offs are in the works right now. For the full interview of Casey Bloys click here. Warning there are spoilers in full interview.
