There are certain moments that can instantly restore your faith in humanity. Sometimes, all it takes is a small act of kindness. That’s exactly what a woman in Oklahoma chose to do during a simple coffee run.
She shared that she stopped by Gold Dome Coffee in Oklahoma City and placed her order as usual. When it came time to pay, she asked the employee if they accepted Apple Pay. Instead of answering directly, he cracked a dad joke.
“Well, how many apples do you have?” he asked, laughing at his own joke before explaining that he’d been making it for a long time, hoping one day someone would actually show up with apples.
This time, someone did.
Rather than brushing it off, the woman decided to take his joke seriously and turn it into a genuine act of kindness.
The Oklahoma woman filmed herself in her car first, explaining the story before revealing that she had actually bought a bag of apples. She then headed back to the same café and ordered an iced latte.
When the employee asked how she would be paying, she smiled and replied, “I have Apple Pay.” Just like before, he played along and joked, “How many apples did you bring?”
This time, though, he wasn’t expecting her response.
She reached over and handed him a bag of apples from her car. Stunned, he laughed and said, “Don’t [expletive] with me,” clearly overwhelmed with excitement as he realized she was serious.
The moment quickly turned heartwarming. The employee grabbed the bag in disbelief, thanked her repeatedly, and proudly showed it to his coworker.
“First person ever. You kidding me? This is the coolest thing ever,” he said.
His face lit up as he handed her the drink, still smiling in amazement. In the end, he happily accepted her “Apple Pay” in the most literal way possible.
The cherry on top? The woman is actually a dentist, making her sweet gesture even more memorable.
