.For months, videos have circulated showing ICE agents using force and brutality during arrests, sparking public outrage as bystanders captured and shared the incidents. Many of these clips portray the agents as cold and unfeeling, and a recent case in North Carolina at Plaza Midwood reinforced that image. A woman recorded ICE agents attempting to arrest a man, an effort that triggered a medical emergency requiring paramedics. Rather than stepping back after causing the crisis, the agents stayed and continued with the arrest.
The North Carolina woman who was filming couldn’t believe that ICE would still want to arrest a man who was on a stretcher. “Are you kidding me?” she asked them. “You guys are pieces of [expletive],” she continued as the agents there remained silent and refused to answer any of her questions. They didn’t even answer her when she asked if they had a warrant. The woman couldn’t help but write in her caption, “Charlotte fire department/end was complicit. We see you and you aren’t innocent.” It is definitely a scene that no one would like to see.
People Reacting to the Heartless North Carolina ICE Agents
Of course, the majority of people didn’t like what they just saw happening in North Carolina. Only a heartless person would take delight in seeing this. This is why a lot of the comments insulted the agents such as one saying, “Masked thugs.” Unfortunately, one Redditor revealed that this wasn’t the first time ICE caused someone to have a medical emergency. “They did this in another state as well, put the man in the ICU for 34 days and would only refer to him by a pseudonym, wouldn’t allow medicsl staff to contact family to ask about previous health conditions, etc. Which is literally KIDNAPPING. ICE stood in his hospital room for THRITY FOUR DAYS , 24 hours a day…as if the guy they put in a coma was just going to wake up and run away,” they wrote.
The same commentator then wished, “I pray these goons meet every single ounce, down to the last drop, of karma they are brewing for themselves. They deserve no rest, no peace, and no happiness every again in life.” Someone else compared ICE agents’ actions to what Hitler did. “In 1930 Hitler started rounding up Jews because they looked Jewish. Did nothing wrong. Paid taxes and didn’t break the law. Didn’t we learn anything from WW2? Mexicans are Christians. Good people,” they wrote. Others supported what happened in the video, as one person said, “During the detainment of an illegal alien the undocumented immigrant had a medical emergency and received prompt medical aid. Fixed it for you.” It still shouldn’t happen.
