Xbox Now, one of Xbox and Microsoft’s digital storefronts, has supposedly leaked one of the most awaited AAA titles in 2025. Hell is Us, based on the leak, could be released as early as September 1, 2025, for the Deluxe Edition, while the normal version would presumably be available on September 4.
The supposed leak came directly from Xbox Now’s page forHell is Us. Under the game’s name, you’ll be able to find a release date for the US. Suffice it to say, that pre-orders for Hell is Us are available now. Of course, the leak is not indicative of the game’s final release date and there could be delays or further confirmation from the devs themselves.
At the time of writing, developer Rogue Factor and publisher Nacon have yet to comment on the leak or rumor. Meanwhile, the page showing the leaked Hell is Us release date is still up and hasn’t been taken down.
Hell is Us is an upcoming 3rd person action-adventure game set in a sci-fi post-apocalyptic setting. Despite the initial impression, Hell is Us actually isn’t a Soulslike game and it’s also not an open-world game despite seemingly taking inspiration from Elden Ring‘s design ethos.
The game was first revealed during Sony‘s September 2024 State of Play though it was announced earlier back in April 2022. Seeing as there are several gameplay trailers available now, it appears the September 2025 release date is not entirely unreasonable. However, that would bring Hell is Us dangerously close to another big-budget video game in 2025.
GTA 6 Could Also Release in September 2025 (or Not)
The Hell is Us leak for its September 2025 release date has somewhat given another point of speculation to many gamers waiting for GTA 6‘s arrival as though it were the second coming of some son of god.
Seeing as most publishers want to avoid GTA 6‘s Autumn/Fall release window, the guess is that Hell is Us‘ publisher is confident enough that GTA 6 won’t steamroll their game, considering it’s a new IP. So perhaps they weren’t expecting GTA 6 to be released in September, and instead perhaps later in October or November.
There is still the possibility that GTA 6 will commit to the start of its Fall 2025 release window. GTA 5 notably came out in September 2013. In that case, Hell is Us could face the toughest competition ever and might not be able to maintain the momentum of its first month sales.
However, the Hell is Us release date leak of September 2025 is yet to be confirmed by the developer and publisher. For now, take it with a grain of salt.
