Helldivers 2 and its Premium Warbond (battle pass) stays true to the spirit of freedom and liberty. You don’t need to spend anything to unlock it. However, you still need to spend those hard-earned Medals to unlock some of the premium weapons and armor. Therein lies the conundrum, you can’t test out the items before unlocking them, and often that leads to blind purchases. That’s why we’ve prepared a Helldivers 2 Premium Warbond guide to get you started.
There’s No Rush for Premium Warbonds, By the Way
The Premium Warbonds in Helldivers 2 are thankfully there to stay permanently (at least according to the developers). There’s no FOMO factor here; you can unlock it at your leisure. However, new stuff keeps getting added every couple of weeks or so.
At the moment, there are two Premium Warbonds or battlepass tracks available.
- Steeled Veterans – The theme focuses on improved variants of armor and weapons.
- Cutting Edge – Focuses on more advanced armor and weaponry.
You’ll need Super Credits to purchase and unlock both. Each of them costs 1,000 Super Credits to unlock. That means you either will have to buy the Super Credit Warbond in the regular, free Warbond track or purchase the Super Credits with real money. Either way is fine, but the former is preferable if the budget is tight.
Again, these Premium Warbonds are here to stay permanently. So it’s up to you whether you want the stuff now or work hard for them later. Without further ado, however, here’s a guide below on which of the items in Helldivers 2 Premium Warbonds are worth it.
Steeled Veterans Recommendations
Most of these are upgraded versions of the regular items you unlock in the regular Warbond. Some are more effective than others such as:
- SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary – It’s a Breaker Shotgun and Flamethrower rolled into one (sort of) and overall a lovely upgrade over the regular Breaker.
- SA-25 Steel Trooper – Not much better than the default Armor. It’s actually 50 points less protective, but you get fewer annoying limb injuries and more distance for your Orbital and Eagle bombardments.
- G-10 Incendiary – Fire grenade that’s less likely to kill you and your teammates. Not that effective against Automatons though.
- Flexible Reinforcement Budget – More Reinforcements help immensely in harder difficulties.
- Super Credits
Everything else is up to you.
We sadly don’t recommend the AR-23C Liberator Concussive since it has a lower fire rate than the default Liberator and isn’t much better damage-wise.
Cutting Edge Recommendations
For the Cutting Edge Helldivers 2 Premium Warbond, the theme is more advanced weaponry. Here are our recommendations:
- EX-03 Prototype 3 – But only if you want to unlock the new Arc Gun.
- ARC-12 Blitzer – Unlimited Ammo Capacity makes it quite a sweet deal.
- LAS-7 Dagger – More sidearm options, and this one has unlimited ammo (sort of).
- Super Credits
We’re still on the fence about the Localization Confusion Booster as it has limited uses, but it can come in handy in a pinch or higher difficulties. But come on, fewer enemies means less gameplay and less Democracy!
