Ordering groceries online can be convenient, but it also carries a risk when you can’t check how fresh the products are yourself. A woman in Henderson, Nevada, said she learned that the hard way after her Walmart pickup order included a Cobb salad that was spoiled before she even opened it. She filmed a TikTok video to show how bad the salad looked.
In the clip, she explained that she bought the salad for dinner while her boyfriend chose pizza. However, when she unpacked her groceries, she immediately noticed that something seemed wrong with her meal. “Look at this salad, y’all,” she said while holding up the unopened container. The plastic wrap was puffed up, and inside a hard-boiled egg looked ‘poofy,’ while the romaine leaves lay limp with beads of water clinging to the inside of the container. “This is disgusting. I cannot eat this,” she added, noting that it smelled bad even before she lifted the lid.
The lady also wrote in the caption of the video that she requested a refund through Walmart’s system right away, but customer service asked her to bring the salad back to the store. “Babes, I’m already home,” she told viewers, frustrated that she might have to leave her house to return spoiled food.
What People Are Saying About the Henderson Walmart Salad
In the comments, one person warned, “Don’t eat that fam.” Someone else sympathized with her about the challenge of getting fresh produce through pickup orders. They wrote, “I usually order for pickup because I hate shopping. I got my son precut watermelon because I was feeling lazy and it was so mushy. Why even sell it if you can’t give us quality?”
Some tried to reassure her. “Just do a return and get a refund or a new salad,” a netizen suggested. Another shared that they had had a positive experience ordering from Walmart, writing, “I just got 2 Cobb salads in my online order today. My Walmart doing something right cause mine look super fresh.”
Others said they have stopped buying store-prepared produce altogether. “You gotta shop the fruits, salads and meat at your own risk,” one person commented. “I stopped buying salad, fruits and I went vegan. It’s rough tryna find food these days to eat. I love eating healthy but can’t, especially salad.”
