A video has surfaced of an unused level for Wii U title Yoshi’s Woolly World. The video comes to us from the Twitter user and Youtuber Random Talking Bush and also features a music track that didn’t make it into the final game. The level is titled “testline006,” implying it was a stage designed for testing and never actually meant for inclusion in the first place. The stage in the video is actually viewed using 3DS Max, a 3D modeling and animation software platform, rather than on the Wii U system itself.

Among other assets RTB discovered are yarn outlines of Yoshi styled similar to Kirby’s Epic Yarn, as opposed to the fully filled-in Yoshi for the final game. Unfortunately, there is no gameplay of the level in the video. Rather, RTB scrolls across the level to demonstrate its appearance and layout. According to the user, “Yoshi’s Woolly World actually has loads of unused stages and older versions.” Maybe someday modders will be able to recreate these unused levels and make them playable. Until then, Yoshi’s Woolly World is a wonderful Yoshi game more than worth a look for those who enjoyed Yoshi’s Island and Yoshi’s Story.
