A man in Florida is being called a hero after saving an elderly woman who was found face-down in a water-filled pothole following a fall.
A video of the man helping the elderly woman quickly gained attention online, approaching 100 million views. It appeared to have been shared by his wife, who wanted others to see the good deed he had done. While driving, the man came across the elderly woman lying on the ground after she apparently hit a pothole and fell.
The woman was trapped in her rolling walker with a seat, lying face-down on the wet ground. Almost immediately, the man stopped his vehicle and rushed over to help her get back on her feet. He asked whether she was okay, and she said she was before adding that she would stand up in a minute. However, many viewers believed she may not have been able to get up on her own and may simply have been too embarrassed to ask for help.
Despite what she said, the man helped the elderly woman get back on her feet and asked whether she wanted them to count to three before he assisted her. After counting, he helped her stand and continued checking on her to make sure she was okay. He then worked to position her rolling walker properly so she could sit down again. “I got you. Don’t strain yourself,” he told her as he reassured her during the process.
After fixing the walker, the man helped the elderly woman sit down, and she thanked him for his assistance. When she tried to move on her own, he offered to push her instead and proceeded to move her away from the pothole that appeared to have caused her fall. The video ended with the man telling her that he was going to get her a cup of water.
After sharing the video, the man’s wife said she believed he had done more than simply help the elderly woman and may have saved her life. “Today, Ryan nonchalantly told me he helped an elderly woman, but after I seen the video it was no doubt that he didn’t only help her, he saved her life. This guy under plays everything he does (especially for the kids) and doesn’t expect anything in return. This is not a post to give you credit for doing a good deed. This is a post to give you credit for being a Good Human Being,” she wrote.
