Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s LA mansion sales threaten to stir up more ruckus than the uncertainty surrounding their impending divorce. The couple have faced divorce rumors for months, with their recent move to lead separate lives away from their matrimonial home giving the ultimate confirmation. With neither seemingly interested in the luxurious LA property post-divorce, the home is back on the market, barely months after the duo swiped it for a cool $60 million.
News of their joint decision to sell off the property became public last week. Listing the LA mansion all but confirmed their split despite Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s attempts to keep their marital issues under wraps so far. Sources close to the couple weighed in on the turn of events, sharing reasons for the sale. Per the sources, the duo do not really fancy the home, which they purchased in May 2023 after an extensive search for the perfect abode.
Speaking to People, one source revealed that “Ben never liked the house,” because of its long distance away from his kids. On Jennifer Lopez’s part, the crooner thought the property “too big for her,” making it undesirable for the mom of two. Even with their decision to sell off aligning, the listing prize of the luxury mansion may pose a problem.
According to TMZ, Ben Affleck and Jenifer Lopez listed the 38,000 square foot Beverly Hills mansion for $65 million. The home has reportedly been on the market for two weeks, with no buyer in view yet. Several real estate agents are now weighing in on the prospect of securing a sale in the near future as their imminent divorce looms.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s Mansion Could Score a Fair Deal
Arguing against the price listing, one LA agent find the listing prize ridiculous. The realtor believed the LA mansion would barely scratch the surface of $40 million dollar.
While many others agree with this analysis, some realtors consider $65 million a fair prize, especially with the many gems hidden in plain sight. For one, the mansion, located in the luxurious Beverly Hills neighborhood once housed the infamous Hollywood pair Jennifer and Ben, making it ideal for even the most high profile figures. Additionally, the mansion comes with some serious land mass, luxurious house fittings and high-end fixtures/renovations Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have installed in the last year.
Weighing in on the prize tag, LA realtor Benjamin Bacal of Revel Real Estate pointed out that the mansion has a decent prize tag as it fits the scope, and was good enough for anyone. A second agent supported this logic, telling the outlet that the LA property was a “uniquely large estate on considerable land.”
As proof of the reasonable listing, the agent reportedly has a buyer eyeing the property already, but the offer remains undisclosed. Regardless, the pair would most likely run at a loss of at least $6.5 million between brokers fees and taxes. All that, without factoring in the amount already spent on in-house renovations and decor. This makes the mansion’s asking prize as reasonable as it gets.
