We all know that Highguard had a few bumps on its release, but the developers have been working extremely hard to turn things around to the point that players are still jumping in, and review scores have vastly improved. And now, we just learned that Episode 2 of Highguard is launching tomorrow. This new update brings a plethora of additions, including loot adjustments, a new Warden, and even a new map to test players’ raiding skills.
Highguard Episode 2 Goes Live on February 6
Highguard has surprised everyone today by announcing that Episode 2 is launching tomorrow, which, well, is just a couple of hours away. Wildlight Entertainment has been working hard to turn the initial impressions around, with this monumental update bringing highly-requested features, as well as many adjustments to the core experience.
In terms of new things, we have Ranked mode on the way, which is something many players expected from this competitive shooter at launch. On top of that, the new Warden, Ekon, is bringing the fury with the ability to become a Direwolf to let you tear those walls down and a few enemy Wardens, too. The new Skydrift map is also launching, which introduces more verticality to the gameplay loop, which is something that will test many players who’ve felt comfortable with the more “grounded” experience we’ve seen since launch.
When it comes to updates, POI loot is getting some improvements, which is something players were desperately asking for. Looting certain locales didn’t feel as relevant, but not looting will feel even more impactful, especially for players who go into these POIs. Traversal and map guidance are also receiving a new coat of paint, with both offering clearer indicators to players and faster movement when using certain objects on the map.
Also, if you didn’t know, Highguard is giving all players the Pit Fighters War Chest for free ahead of the release of Episode 2. It includes three legendary skins for Wardens, one for your mount, three for weapons, and many more things that will let you customize your favorite characters. This is something that none of us were expecting, and we’re really thankful that the developers are giving these rewards out for free to the entire community.
So, if you didn’t play Highguard at launch, it has changed a lot since it went live, with it now having a 5v5 mode and several optimization improvements, meaning that Episode 2 is the perfect time to dive into a new raid.
