You’re a wizard! At least, you will be soon. Hogwarts Legacy, Portkey Games’ upcoming new fantasy RPG set in the Harry Potter Wizarding World, now has an official release window sometime in 2022.
While there is still no official release date, an article was shared on the Wizarding World website on Jan. 18. The article shared some of the highlights of Harry Potter experiences in 2022. This includes Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, Fantastic Beasts: A Natural History Documentary featuring Stephen Fry, and Harry Potter: The Exhibition coming to Philadelphia on Feb. 18. There was concern about a possibility of a delay for Hogwarts Legacy, but it looks like the film is going to come out sometime in 2022.
The upcoming Hogwarts Legacy will give Potterheads the chance to live out their wildest dreams within the magical universe introduced to us by author J.K. Rowling. However, it is slightly different from the one audiences experienced in the Harry Potter movies or amusement parks. In this game, players will travel back to Hogwarts in the 1800s. Players will play as students who are new to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You will be able to participate in various classes, interact with various students, craft spells, and meet fantastic beasts. You will also be able to explore familiar areas along with undiscovered locations within the universe.
There is still a dangerous twist. The character players will possess an ancient gift that could place the entirety of the Wizarding World in danger. Players will be able to use this gift for either good or evil, so you will have the chance to forge your own destiny. Essentially, Hogwarts Legacy seems to be Skyrim but in the Wizarding World, which could be an incredible experience.
While there is no official release date for 2022 as of yet, it may not be too much longer before Harry Potter fans are able to live out their wildest fantasies within Hogwarts Legacy. When it does release, the game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
