If you can’t find a date, clearly it must be because all the gay folks are stealing the straight people, right? As laughable as that sounds, some unbelievable individuals think this to be true, such as one “preacher” at the University of Tennessee. Surrounded by his peers, the man yelled homophobic comments about the LGBTQ+ community, with one of his main arguments being that “lesbians are shrinking the dating pool for straight men.”
Luckily, one person eventually couldn’t bear the preacher’s tirade any longer and ran in to snatch away the anti-gay sign the man was holding. Everyone let out a hearty cheer as the self-proclaimed preacher stomped after the thief running off with his sign. “That was so clean damn,” chuckled a Reddit user, commenting on a video of the preacher’s rant. Others chimed in, dubbing him a hero for ending the homophobic man’s yelling. But plenty more pointed out how much of an embarrassment the man is to his peers and himself as an individual.
Reddit Labeled the Homophobic Preacher an Incel
“Imagine announcing to a large group of your peers that no woman will touch you,” joked a commenter. A few others guessed that maybe his mother either didn’t love him or babied him too much to the point that he feels entitled. “Incels think they’re entitled to women. Imagine being so undesirable that you lose against lesbians for straight women,” laughed one Redditor. “Tell me you’re an incel without telling me you’re an incel,” added another.
One person pointed out the absurdity of what the preacher was proclaiming. He believes lesbians should not be dating each other and should choose straight men instead, which doesn’t make sense, since they don’t like men in the first place. “And in his mind, this hypothetical man would also be okay with dating a repressed lesbian? Too f**king insane for words,” the commenter concludes.
Several other Reddit users continue criticizing incels for feeling entitled to having a woman like a “participation trophy,” and that even repressed lesbians should be forced to be with them. These are the kind of people who share the irrational and dangerous belief that women are somehow lesser than men. Hopefully, the preacher will also be educated for his bigotry during his time at university.
