While Honkai: Star Rail has many tanks right now, Fu Xuan is still one of the best tanks in the game. She is a Quantum user who threads the Path of Preservation. Even months after her release, she’s one of the sustain units in the game, especially if you’re lucky enough to have her featured Light Cone. Beyond her tank skills, she can also work as a healer, making room for another character in your team composition. If you’re lucky enough to have her, here’s a guide for the best Fu Xuan build and team comp in Honkai Star Rail.
The Best Build for Fu Xuan in Honkai Star Rail
[Updated on August 27, 2024 – Updated the build’s information, images, and links]
Fu Xuan is a 5-star character tank who brings many fun gimmicks to the game, making her a formidable wall to break. She can restore your party’s HP, mitigate damage, and even increase their Crit Rate, making her a must-have for many teams. If you want the right build for Fu Xuan in Honkai Star Rail, we have it alongside her best team comp.
Light Cones
Light Cone | Description |
---|---|
She Already Shut Her Eyes (Best/5-Star) | Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 24% and Energy Regeneration Rate by 12%. When the wearer’s HP is decreased, the DMG of all allies increases by 9% for two turns. At the beginning of each wave, restore HP equal to 80% of HP already lost by the character themselves for the team. |
Landau’s Choice (4-Star) | The wearer is more likely to be attacked, but DMG taken is reduced by 16%. |
Day One of my New Life (4-Star) | Increases the wearer’s DEF by 16%. After entering the battle, the DMG RES of all allies increases by 8%. Effects of the same type cannot stack. |
Undoubtedly, She Already Shut Her Eyes is the best Light Cone for Fu Xuan in Honkai: Star Rail and one that will let her be a healer and tank with this build. It shouldn’t come as a surprise because it is her featured Light Cone, and it synergizes perfectly with her. The massive HP increase is great as it scales with Fu Xuan’s skills, but it also restores the HP of other party members. It isn’t the best for healing output, but with Fu Xuan’s tanking skills, you’ll rarely have to think about healing other party members.
Landau’s Choice is the best and cheapest option and not a bad one for F2P players. It decreases the damage Fu Xuan receives while also increasing her chance of being attacked. On the other hand, Day One of my New Life is also ideal for the DEF increase and buffing the DMG RES of allies. However, of the two 4-star alternatives, Landau’s Choice is better.
Relics & Stats
While the Guard of Wuthering Snow relic set is the one for tanks, Fu Xuan benefits more from the Longevous Disciple set. Since Fu Xuan will be receiving most of the hits, her CRIT chance will increase during a fight, making it good for her ultimate and just as a general buff. You could go for the Wuthering Snow set for a “tankier” approach, and it isn’t a bad idea if you don’t have her premium Light Cone. But if you have the featured LC, go for Longevous Disciple. Here are the stats you need for her:
Relic/Ornament | Stats |
---|---|
Body Piece | HP or DEF depending on the RNG when leveling up relics. |
Feet Piece | Speed. The faster Fu Xuan moves, the faster she can cast her skill to protect other party members. |
Planar Sphere | HP |
Link Rope | Energy Regen Rate. Fu Xuan needs to spam her Ultimate constantly to trigger her talent when her HP goes below a certain threshold. |
Team Comps
There are two key team compositions you’ll see in the current meta right now revolving around Firefly and Acheron, with Fu Xuan as sustain. You’ll need a lot of premium characters to make these compositions work, so if you have any of these characters, make sure to use them.
Role | Character(s) |
---|---|
Main DPS | Acheron Firefly |
First Support | Pela Trailblazer (Harmony) |
Second Support | Sparkle/Silver Wolf Ruan Mei |
Sustain | Fu Xuan (Healer & Tank with her LC) |
For the Acheron team comp, you need Pela, Fu Xuan, and Sparkle or Silver Wolf, depending on what you’re aiming for. Personally, I prefer Sparkle due to her SP increases, and her buffs are better than Silver Wolf’s. On the other hand, the Firefly-centric team comp is also ideal if you have the Trailblazer and Ruan Mei to bring the Superbreak effect and RES PEN buffs. Fu Xuan fits perfectly in any of them. However, if you don’t have her premium Light Cone, you might want to consider swapping one of the supports out for a healer, just if your team is too squishy.
And that’s a wrap on the best build and team comp for Fu Xuan in Honkai: Star Rail. Having her is fantastic, as she can perform both tank and healer roles. Still, she excels at the first one. But, as always, feel free to experiment with your characters to find the right build for you.
