Like other RPGs,ย Honkai Star Railย features numerous stats and numbers that can influence combat. One of the most important stats is Speed since it directly affects how fast and often your character can attack in a battle. Besides getting this stat as high as possible, you must also understand Speed Breakpoints inย Honkai Star Rail. The game won’t directly tell you about this hidden stat, but it is important to take into account, especially when building a DPS unit, such asย Seele.

Speed (SPD) is a stat that influences the time your unit needs to take their next turn. On the other hand, Speed Breakpoints are certain thresholds of Speed values that you want to reach to increase your character’s turn order significantly.

Here are all Speed Breakpoints’ thresholds in Honkai Star Rail:

  • 121 Speed
    • Your unit can have two turns in the second cycle.
    • They receive one bonus turn within the five cycles.
    • Some Relic sets’ effects require 120 SPD to be activated.
  • 134 Speed
    • Your unit gets two turns in the first and fourth cycles.
    • They also obtain two bonus turns within five cycles.
    • Enables Relic sets’ effects that require 120 SPD.
  • 147 Speed
    • Your character has two turns in the first, third, and fifth cycles.
    • They also get three bonus turns within five cycles.
    • You can utilize Relic sets’ effects that need 120 or 145 SPD.
  • 156 Speed
    • Your unit can have two turns in the first, third, and fourth cycles.
    • They still only receive three bonus turns within five cycles.
    • You can also unlock Relic sets’ effects that require 120 or 145 SPD.
  • 164 Speed
    • Your character gets two turns in the first, second, fourth, and fifth cycles.
    • They also receive four bonus turns within five cycles.
    • Relic sets’ effects that need 120 or 145 SPD are active.

As you can see, reaching these Speed Breakpoints in Honkai Star Rail is crucial to gaining advantages in battles. It is especially important in Memory of Chaos, where the number of cycles left affects the number of stars that you get.

Do note that not every character requires this much Speed. Some units have kits that do not need them to have as many turns as possible. One great example is Clara because she primarily deals damage via her follow-up attacks, so giving her too much Speed is not cost-effective.

Lastly, you can also watch Guoba Certified’s Honkai Star Rail video, where he talks about Speed stat and Speed Breakpoints in detail.
