After she and the other shopper confirmed that there was a live mouse inside the bread, they went to find a store employee. She explained that she immediately felt the entire bakery section should be considered contaminated. When they finally located a team lead, however, he reportedly removed only the single product from the bottom shelf. In her view, that response fell short of what should have been done. Later, the woman was able to contact the manager responsible for the entire bread section at Walmart. He asked her to send over the video of the mouse, which she did. According to the woman, the manager reassured her that there is an established protocol for situations like this, which includes removing all affected products and fully sanitizing the area.
She later posted another video showing her immediate reaction after discovering the mouse. In the clip, the shopper who first alerted her explains that she only noticed something was wrong when she tried to grab the bag herself. The Instacart worker then picked up the bread again, and this time the mouse’s tail was clearly visible through the packaging. Moments later, the mouse escaped from the bag entirely, meaning it was still loose somewhere inside the store. Yikes.
