The job market right now is kind of rough, but that doesn’t mean that you should accept any job that comes your way. Some recruiters might offer you terrible jobs for even worse wages. The problem is that they don’t think they are doing anything wrong. In fact, some believe that they are doing you a favor. A Houston recruiter believed this after he advertised a job where you have to clean nasty trash compactors. Now, some people might have been ready to take the job if it paid well, but it doesn’t. The guy was ready to pay seven dollars per hour to whoever got hired. Be for real. I wished this was a joke, but he was very serious. He even wrote that whoever applies must have two years of experience and no felonies. If you are, for some reason, interested, you should send him your resume.
I just want to know what the Houston guy expected. Did he think people would rush to apply for this job? Well, he certainly didn’t receive the reaction he might have been hoping for. In another video, he revealed that someone showed up only to spit at him. “Feeling very disrespected got spit on by someone I was interviewing for a job opportunity I posted on TikTok,” he wrote. In addition to this, three people wanted to invite him to a fist fight. Two people were also willing to do the job only if they were paid triple what was offered. I honestly think the recruiter is crazy to post this, but the spitting part is unnecessary. They could have just moved on. Honestly, though, I would have loved to see any of the fist fights offered if they ended up taking place.
People Reacting to the Houston Recruiter’s Job Offer
I don’t know what the Houston guy predicted but he certainly didn’t receive a good reaction. A lot of people had not-so-nice comments to leave behind. Unfortunately, since a lot of these comments involve mentions of crude words, it won’t be possible to add them. You can imagine some of them, though. One comment I can mention, though, is that someone said, “Ill pay you 7 to wipe my a*s.” This was honestly one of the nicest comments left on the video. Apparently, the guy wasn’t joking about people calling him asking to fight him because one person wanted to hit him as well. “Finna apply just to hit yo ahh,” they wrote. The recruiter still had enough patience to reply, saying, “Send me a dm with your resume must not have any felonies on your record.” This made someone write, “finna have a felony after this bs.”
I have to applaud one person for trying to be nice since they said, “u out yo f**king mind aaron.” At least they were honest. Another person felt bad for whoever has to do this job. “2 years of shoveling sh*t water outta a trash compactor im dead asf,” they wrote. Despite all the criticism, the Houston recruiter still tried to defend himself and his requirements. “No time to train need somebody to get in the compactor and know what he has to do without being babied,” he explained the two-year experience requirement. One TikTok user also pointed out that it’s quite difficult to find anyone willing to do this job. “u gonna be looking for a while aaron,” they told the recruiter. I honestly hope that the guy is joking, though. If he isn’t joking then we have a serious problem when it comes to the job market.
