A Houston-area woman is asking for help online after her husband’s work truck was stolen from their driveway in the early hours of September 23. She shared a TikTok describing how the theft unfolded and warned others to stay alert.
In the video, the woman said the 2004 maroon Dodge Ram diesel was not only a cherished vehicle but also essential to her husband’s contracting business. The truck, in mint condition with only about 45,000 miles, was loaded with tools. “This isn’t just a thorn in our side, it’s our livelihood,” she explained.
The couple believes the thieves planned their move carefully. After reviewing home security footage and speaking with neighbors, they discovered the truck had been gone for nearly seven hours before anyone realized. Their neighborhood in Eagle Springs, about 20 minutes from downtown Houston, is known for having paid patrols and cameras, but it also has easy access to major highways and is only about five hours from the Mexican border. “By the time it’s noticed, it’s either already been chopped or it is in Mexico,” she said.
The woman urged viewers to keep an eye out for the distinctive truck with a lifted body and very low mileage. She noted that the thieves hot-wired it in just three minutes and would likely try to move or dismantle it quickly.

A few also shared some of their own security tips, saying, “We have hidden AirTags in our cars,” and “That’s horrible we put kill switches in all of ours. I hope they recover it.”
