Now, with their one-year anniversary fast approaching, the producer is sharing the secret behind his relationship with one of the biggest pop stars in the world.
It is no easy feat bagging the most followed woman on Instagram, so it is no surprise Blanco had to put in the work. He revealed his secret in a new interview for People Magazine’s Sexiest People Alive. The 36-year-old confessed that he has some rules that guide his love life and draw the ladies to him. First on the list is cooking — something Gomez and Blanco bond over. “If you don’t know how to cook it — learn it,” he advised. “Try to be chivalrous: Tell her how pretty she is. Chivalry’s not dead.” However, Blanco’s biggest love weapon in his arsenal seems to be his ability to plan unforgettable first fates. The Eastside producer explained that he always wants first dates to be “insane” and “leave an impression.” However, he doesn’t just stop at just the first date but like to make every one memorable.
”I go all out for every date. We go all out for each other. One time, Sel was like, ‘Oh, I want to take you on a date.’ We drove somewhere, and she had rented out a whole botanical garden for me. She also likes something so simple.”
Blanco then recalled how he wowed Gomez with the simple things for Valentine’s Day 2024. He revealed that he got her Taco Bell, movie-theater nachos, and her favorite pickles from Texas.

Blanco shared that he often resorts to handmade gifts because he wants to give unique gifts. Unfortunately, Gomez is way better than him in that department. He recalled a special gesture of the Disney alum during a tough time in their relationship. Speaking to the publication, he gushed:
”The first time me and Sel were really going to be long distance for a while, she made a bear that, when I pressed its hand, it said, ‘I miss you so much. You’re going to be okay. I’ll see you when I get back.’ She’s very good at gifting.”
Recall that four years after collaborating on the song, I Can’t Get Enough, Gomez revealed she was dating Blanco in December 2023. Unfortunately, fans didn’t immediately approve, causing the singer to defend their relationship.
