Commander Mode is a great single-player mode in Ready or Not. It lets players command a SWAT team of squadmates that each have different abilities and traits. It’s great for experiencing a new kind of narrative experience while also playing by yourself. For those starting fresh with the mode, let’s get into how Commander Mode works in Ready or Not.

Commander Mode works as the optimal single-player experience in Ready or Not. The role of the SWAT Commander involves assembling a specialized team, providing tactical guidance, and planning and executing missions. Commanders are responsible for maintaining integrity and prioritizing the mental and physical well-being of their team.

Incapacitated officers might be temporarily unavailable, and in extreme cases, face the risk of permanent loss through death. In unique situations, Commanders may face permanent consequences, including fatal ones, based on critical choices. That means that you and your squadmates can be killed in action. Besides that, there is a sense of realism and immersion that isn’t present outside of Commander Mode.

To break down Commander Mode:

  1. Be the Commander.

    You take on the role of David “Judge” Beaumont, who serves as the Team Commander for the LSPD SWAT.

  2. Select your squad.

    You can choose from different squadmates who each have different abilities and traits.

  3. Set objectives and order your squad.

    You’ll need to strategically plan each mission. You’re responsible for giving out orders and making each mission a success.

  4. Permadeath feature.

    It’ll be up to you to ensure that your squadmates stay healthy, mentally alert, and alive. Even their stress levels are monitored based on their performance throughout the mission.

  5. Narrative Story

    The story includes experiences like briefings, interactive audio calls, and even realistic challenges that real SWAT members face.

Commander Mode Tips and Tricks

Commander Mode aims for and succeeds at, being the optimal SWAT Team experience. As a result, mental health checks are performed to assess how squadmates are doing. Monitoring these check-ins is crucial since unbearable mental states can cause an officer to quit altogether. Ensuring that you’re taking care of your squad is of the utmost importance.

Due to the permadeath feature, it a character dies, it makes the stress even harder on squadmates. As long as you are considerate in how squadmates are doing, you should be successful in Commander Mode.
