Obsidian Entertainment’s backyard survival RPG received its latest — and possibly final — update and it brings plenty of new additions and tweaks to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids-esque formula. Dubbed the Fully Yoked update, players can expect to encounter new critters, more items, a plethora of quality-of-life improvements, and above all else, players can finally embark on a new adventure in New Game Plus. But how does one unlock New Game Plus in Grounded? Good question, and one we’ll lift the lid on down below. Let’s do this!

What Is New Game Plus in Grounded?

First of all, let’s go over what New Game Plus is in Grounded. Essentially, when you enter New Game Plus, you’ll start a brand-new game but you’ll get to keep all of your items, bases, recipe unlocks, and upgrades. Basically, your progression will carry over, though the game will start over again.

However, there’s a twist. Instead of the regular enemies that you initially faced in your previous playthrough, Grounded‘s NG+ will offer more challenging adversaries. These are known in-game as “Infused Creatures” and they’re not solely massive HP sponges. Rather, Infused Creatures will inflict more damage, attack faster, and even boast new abilities that they didn’t have before.

On top of this, enemy placements have been “remixed” and there are even some new challenges and rewards to be discovered. We won’t spoil them all here, as part of the fun is seeing them for yourself!

After downloading the new Fully Yoked update, you’ll be able to start your journey to NG+. Initially, your first port of call is to find the REMIX.R Lab. It’s found in the upper section of the Flower Bed, just across from the Koi Pond. In short, you’re looking for a cave entrance that looks like crack in the wall. We’ve highlighted the exact spot you’re looking for in the image below.

Inside the cave, follow the path along and you’ll come to a big metallic door with four TV monitors. Behind the door is the entrance to New Game Plus, but how do you open it? Well, these four TV monitors serve as your objectives to unlocking NG+ in Grounded. In essence, they represent the four bosses that you’ll need to defeat to unlock the door. These are as follows:

  • Wasp Queen
  • Mantis
  • Hedge Broodmother
  • JavaMatic

Do note, that you won’t need to defeat the Director Schmector and Infected Broodmother to unlock NG+. Once all four bosses have been put six feet under, you’ll be able to open the locked door, and enter an alternative dimension ushering in the beginning of NG+.
