Firefly’s Real Age in HSR
When you first meet Firefly in Honkai Star Rail, she could be over several thousand years old. During the Penacony arc, the woman reveals she’s a remnant of Glamoth’s Iron Cavalry. Glamoth was a powerful Republic that attempted to fight off the Swarm after the ascension of the Aeon of Propagation, Tayzzyronth.
In order to survive, they created an army filled with genetically engineered warriors with superhuman perception. Since these warriors were too powerful, they also made a fake Empress called “Titania,” who commanded the knights. Although the Iron Cavalry was able to push back against the Swarm, the people began to fear the Empress and her knights.
In the end, an unknown event occurred, which triggered the fall of the Republic of Glamoth. The Swarm Disaster was a major problem around 1300 AE, roughly 800 AE before our protagonist’s story started. That’s a very long time, even for a long-living species. If this is true, Firefly could be older than the Aeon of The Hunt, Lan, in HSR.
However, it is possible that Firefly wasn’t part of the original Glamoth’s Iron Cavalry; instead, it was the remnants that created her. After all, despite the fall of Tayzzyronth, you could still encounter the Swarm monsters when exploring the galaxy. It’s not impossible that some people still made a few genetically engineered warriors to fight back.
Another theory is that Firefly was trapped inside a cryostasis and was recently awoken. We’ve seen various fantastical technology that could only be possible in a sci-fi setting. It’s not so far fetch that someone has figured out a way to put people in cryostasis. Her body could still be very old, but Firefly’s mental age could be much younger.
