How old is Gallagher in HSR? Such a question should be easy to answer, yet the follower of Enigmata is not someone who shares his secrets. Although Gallagher seems simple at first glance, he’s one of the most mysterious Honkai Star Rail characters. He initially claims to be a member of the Bloodhound family, but after his confrontation with Sunday, it’s clear that even his appearance is a lie. Luckily, we can still deduce his age based on past events.

Gallagher’s Real Age in HSR

Although we don’t know Gallagher’s exact age, he should at least be over one thousand years old. During the main story, March 7th asks about the man’s age, but he replies that he’s Thirteen. This is likely a joke or a reference to the Death Arcana in the tarot card. Either way, he’s definitely not a teen, so feel free to thirst over the man.

If we want to deduce Gallagher’s age in Honkai Star Rail, then we must look at Penacony’s past. During the 2.2 main story, we can glimpse the Watchmaker’s memories and hear a young Gallagher speaking to Mikhail. The man called the Watchmaker an old man, implying he was younger than the founder of Penacony.

They likely met during the War of the Frontier, when the Hanunue fought for the liberation of Penacony. Himeko claims some members of the Nameless decided to make the planet their home a millennia ago. One of them was the Watchmaker, who befriended Gallagher after leaving the Astral Express.

According to the timeline, the War of the Frontier occurred in the 2147 Amber Era (AE), while the game is set in 2157 AE. That means there is a 10 AE gap between the two events. Since a new Amber Era starts whenever the Aeon of Preservation, Qlipoth, swings their hammer, the length of one Amber Era could be between 76 and 240 years.

It is unclear how Gallagher’s age could reach over one thousand. One possibility is that he’s someone from a long-lived species, such as people from Xianzhou. However, he could also be like Micah, who could only exist in Penacony’s dreamland since his body is already withering and old.
