Yuffie’s Age in FF7 Rebirth
Yuffie was born in 1991, making her 16 years old when she appeared in FF7 Rebirth. The game takes place in 2007, but the year shouldn’t matter much since the story occurs in another world.
Do note that this is based on information from the original series. Luckily, Square Enix has not indicated that the Remake is set in a completely different timeline. So far, most events have occurred in similar manners, so Yuffie’s age should still be the same in FF7 Rebirth.
Despite being young, Yuffie is dedicated to restoring her homeland, Wutai, after their defeat in the previous war against Shinra Electric Power Company. She grew up surrounded by conflicts and heroic stories of Wutai warriors. Unsurprisingly, she willingly took up the mission to travel to Midgar and steal Shinra’s Legendary Materia.
Yuffie is so dedicated to her cause that she doesn’t let the death of her companion, Sonon, stop her from continuing forward. She initially approaches Cloud’s group out of self-interest but soon grows fond of her new friends.
Yuffie’s young age may make some scenes with Cloud rather awkward. While Aerith and Tifa are the two possible romantic partners, you can still invite Yuffie to the Skywheel date. Square Enix has certainly attempted to paint their relationship as a friendship, considering how old Yuffie is in FF7 Rebirth.
