How old is Princess Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom? Time is certainly a strange thing in the series. We’ve seen so many versions of this character that it can be hard to keep track of which one is which. This is double considering the significant time jump from Breath of the Wild. Knowing her and Link’s ages in these games is a little confusing. With all this said, here is the estimated age of Princess Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom.
What Is Princess Zelda’s Age in Tears of the Kingdom?
While we do not have an exact age for Zelda in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, we can give an estimate. We expect her to be somewhere between 119-121 years old.
In Breath of the Wild, Zelda has recently turned 17 before the Calamity strikes. She can go to Mount Lanayru at this point and pray to try and reveal her powers immediately after this trip is when the Calamity is unleashed. When Link is nearly killed in combat and put into the Resurrection Chamber, she goes to Hyrule Castle and uses her power to keep herself and Calamity Ganon stuck in a kind of limbo for 100 years. After a century, Link wakes up and saves her when he defeats this form of Ganon.
Now we are in Tears of the Kingdom, which we expect to take place a few years after Breath of the Wild. Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact number for years passed, but there are hints that it has been multiple. Some people may look at Purah and wonder how she grew from a child to an adult in that time. We would guess that she spent some time perfecting the aging science she used in Breath of the Wild to bring her to a more appropriate age for her work.
When looking specifically at Princess Zelda, she appears younger because of the magic used to hold the Calamity at bay. She was kind of in a paused state for 100 years. While her true age is pushing 120, like Link, she is a century younger in mind and body.
