Although Louis is the main villain, he is not the type of person who hides in the shadows until the very end. No, you will meet this man several times during your journey. Initially, you will pretend that you are on his side, and you have to prevent him from becoming suspicious. That is why you have to select the correct answers when Louis asks you questions in Metaphor: ReFantazio. While most encounters will allow you to better understand your enemy, some dialogues can lead you to a bad ending.

The first time you can meet with Louis face-to-face is after saving Glodell during the fight against another candidate. Although the man is extremely cold, Louis will ask you a question about your allegiance in Metaphor: ReFantazio. While you plan to stop this man, it’s not wise to show where your true loyalties lie. That’s why you should aim to be a good follower who only wants to help him.

LocationsDialoguesAnswers
Gauntlet RunnerHe’s asking why I became a candidate… How should I respond? To help you, Count Louis.
CharadriusHe’s testing us… What should I ask? What’s your plan against Forden?
Opera HouseBut there’s still hope. If we’re to even these odds, there is one thing I can say…I challenge you to a duel!
Grand TradYou, who claim to be the prince, what do you believe the people seek in their king?Intellect.
Skybound AvatarCome with me and we can realize this dream. What say you? That’s false fairness.
Tyrant’s StarWhat is it you truly want?I want to stop you.

I’ll touch on spoilers slightly in this paragraph so feel free to skip it if you want to play blind. However, I must warn you that during your encounter with Louis in the Skybound Avatar, you can get a bad ending if you don’t choose the correct answers. Basically, the man will offer you a chance to join him, and you must reject his offer to get the true ending. If you agree with him, the rest of your party members will submit to this decision.
