  • Can You Move to California in BitLife? Answered

You can be born in some pretty interesting places in BitLife, but you can also live in familiar places too, like California. It’s actually home to a few BitLife challenges, like Seeing Stars. So, if the beaches are calling to you, then beaches you shall have. Now, to be born in California, you’ll have to create a whole new life in BitLife. Unfortunately, moving to California, even if you emigrate, isn’t an option.

How to Be Born in California in BitLife

To be born in California, you’ll have to choose your birthplace while you’re creating your character. If you don’t want to lose progress on your current Bitizen—that’s okay! You can save your character and come back to it later.

  1. Launch BitLife and then tap the three dashes in the top-left corner.
  2. Select “Save Life” if you don’t want to lose progress on your current Bitizen.
  3. Now tap “New Life,” tap “Yes” and you’ll see the new character window.
  4. For “Country,” set it to “United States.”
  5. For “Place,” you can set it to any of these: Compton, Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose.

Any of those cities and counties will set you in California. So, if you’re trying to complete any California-specific challenges, like Stud Muffin, you’ll be right as rain. Keep in mind that some of the California-based challenges in BitLife also take into account your gender, like Turn Back Time.

Can You Move to California in BitLife? Answered

If for whatever reason you want to move to California in BitLife, say, from New York, the game doesn’t let you do that. Moving cities isn’t an option in BitLife.

I even tried emigrating from the United States to Switzerland (with my starting place being Atlanta), then back to the United States, I was just sent to Atlanta. I couldn’t choose the state; I was just sent back to Atlanta.

And this is a problem that can affect generations, too. Even you emigrate out of the United States, stick around in, say, Korea for a while, then return with a descendant, you could end up back in the city of your original character. It’s frustrating!

So, if you’re trying to complete a challenge in BitLife that involves California, just create a new character born in California and be done with it.
