After exploring the final dungeon in Metaphor: ReFantazio, the Tyrant’s Star, you can finally face the final boss, Louis. The man who has claimed the Royal Sceptaer despite not being crowned king has spread chaos throughout the continent. You must defeat him in battle before he can commence his plan of turning everyone into human monsters. The final battle is long, and you need to beat him as Archdemon Louis Charadrius and then as Destroyer Charadrius.
How To Defeat Archdemon Louis Charadrius
Archdemon Louis Charadrius is a Level 80 final boss that you need to defeat in Metaphor: ReFantazio. He doesn’t have any weakness or resistance, so you can attack him with any of these elements. However, you can still inflict a one-time weakness on him using the Masked Dancer Archetype.
- Protagonist – Prince
- Junah – Royal Masked Dancer
- Strohl – Royal Warrior with Warlord abilities
- Eupha – Royal Summoner
The protagonist should use the Prince Archetype since he can use Almighty attacks on Louis. You definitely want to bring Junah since she can inflict a one-time weakness with her ability. You can pair this move with Eupha because she can summon all sorts of monsters with her class. Strohl can be a Warlord or a Royal Warrior. He can deal physical damage while also buffing your team.
Archdemon Louis Charadrius will mainly target the protagonist, but he also has plenty of AoE moves. During the battle, he will start charging up, which is the start of a powerful attack that will wipe out your team. You need to inflict massive damage on the boss to stop him.
I highly recommend destroying all the crystals on the Tyrant’s Star before facing Louis. Each of them will drop the best weapons in the game. You also need to ensure that you cover your elemental weakness with accessories since the boss will actively target them.
Metaphor: ReFantazio Destroyer Charadrius Boss Fight Guide
Louis is many things, but he is not a quitter. After that first battle, you will need to face him again, and this time, he will appear as Destroyer Charadrius. If you fail to destroy the Melancholia Crystals on the Tyrant’s Star, you need to face a buffed-up version of this boss.
In the first phase, you need to deal with three enemies: Mask of Ire, Mask of Joy, and Mask of Mirth. Like the previous version, Louis has no resistance or weakness, and you can use the same team comp to face this final boss. However, you may consider changing Eupha to Hulkenberg if you want to get her passive ability from the Royal Knight Archetype.
Remember to always buff your team. Although the boss will remove them during his turn, you will force him to waste a turn. You can also throw Debilitate at him since that will also force Louis to use another turn. Note that the boss has a massive HP, and this will be a war of attrition. Ensure you have ample MP restorative items so you can keep using abilities.
You need to be wary whenever Destroyer Charadrius brings out a Sacrificial Doll. Attack the head that has this object in its mouth. If you fail to destroy it, the doll will buff the boss and allow Louis to use a powerful AoE attack.
Once you reach phase two, you can face the real Louis. This boss version has mostly the same attacks. I suggest bringing out Heismay with the Royal Thief Archetype and the Dodger’s Ring equipped. If he manages to dodge the boss’ attack, Louis’ turn will instantly end.
Since he hasn’t changed his attack pattern much, you can use the same strategy as before. Keep using buffs and debuffs to hopefully make Louis waste two turns. You can also use Repel abilities since this will also forcefully end the boss’ turn.
