This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Carmine’s little brother, Kieran, is the Blueberry Academy Elite Four Champion. His team is a combination of different, hard-hitting Pokemon that include Dragonite and Hydrapple. This makes it a little difficult to prepare against your battle with him. Let’s take a look at how to beat Kieran in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk as well as the best strategies to use against him.

Beating Kieran – Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk Walkthrough

The first thing you need to know is who is on Kieran’s Pokemon team in The Indigo Disk. If you’re looking to beat Kierain in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk, then study these Pokemon and their types carefully:

PokemonTypeLevel
DragoniteDragon/Flying80
PolitoedWater80
Porygon-ZNormal81
GrimmsnarlDark/Fairy81
IncineroarFire/Dark81
HydrappleGrass/Dragon (Fighting Tera Type)82

Kieran’s team doesn’t focus on a specific type, and each Pokemon has moves that counter their weaknesses. After defeating Kieran, you will be awarded the title of the new Blueberry League Champion. You will also be rewarded with a Master Ball. At that point, you can rest assured that you’ve pretty much hit the real end game.

Kieran Tips

There are a few things that we recommend you keep in mind when fighting against Kieran. For starters, his Pokemon are holding onto items that could catch you off guard. Politoad is holding onto a Wacan Berry, which halves the damage of the first Electric-type move that you attack if with. Considering that, just don’t use Electric-type moves. Grimmsnarl is holding onto a Focus Sash, which makes it so that you can’t KO it in one hit. We also recommend that you bring Pokemon that have Ice, Fighting, Fairy, and Electric-type moves to have the best advantage when you’re in the middle of the fight.

Here is a breakdown of all the strategies and tips for beating Kieran’s Pokemon team in The Indigo Disk:

  • When attacking Politoad, remember that it is holding onto a Wacan Berry which halves the damage of the first Electric-type move that it’s attacked with.
  • You aren’t able to KO Grimmsnarl in one hit because it is holding onto a Focus Sash.
  • Bring Pokemon that have Ice-type moves to use against Dragonite and Hydrapple.
  • Bring Pokemon that have Fighting-type moves to use against Porygon-Z and Incineroar.
  • Bring Electric and Fairy-type Pokemon to use against Politoad and Grimmsnarl, respectively.
  • If possible, bring out Ogerpon as Kieran has a special dialogue that only comes out when you do so.
