Chimney is one of the more confusing Dungeons to beat in Remnant 2. Where most Dungeons within the game have a boss to fight at the end of them, the Chimney Dungeon ends in an electrifying puzzle experience. Another element that further makes the puzzle complex is that it’s timed! If you don’t make it to the end by a certain amount of time, you will die a painful death. Though with this guide, you’ll be able to make it through the lightning puzzle in no time, get a Heart Seed, and even be able to craft the new Soulbinder mod! Keep reading to learn how to beat the Chimney Dungeon in Remnant 2.

How To Beat the Lightning Encounter in Chimney

The Lightning Encounter in the Chimney Dungeon is challenging to figure out. When you first approach the last room of the Dungeon, you will find a staircase in front of you that leads up to a lever before a glowing purple seed surrounded by lightning. This is the beginning point of the lightning encounter that you must complete to beat the Chimney Dungeon in Remnant 2.

Approach the lever and interact with it. Once the lever is pulled, be ready to immediately head back down the stairs and to the side of the room where a spiral staircase descends into the depths of the Dungeon. Take the stairs down as quickly as possible, avoiding enemies that spawn in the walls. Everything here is electrified, including the purple crystals that line the staircase railing.

As you approach these crystals, you can shoot them and destroy them to avoid electrocution whenever you get too close to them. They get charged when hit with lightning and eventually discharge electricity in their vicinity after some time. The way it’s set up, if you hit one a the time that it releases electricity, you will likely hit them all, so be wary of your timing.

Keep descending into the Dungeon on the stairs until you see a large root that blocks your path and creates a bridge for you to cross into the center of the room. Cross over the large root and start shooting at the glowing bits in the center of the path. Once you destroy them, you can hop down into a hole leading to another staircase you must descend.

Remember that a layer of lightning will descend above you this whole time, threatening to electrocute you if you don’t drop fast enough, so be quick!

When you reach the bottom of the stairs, you will find the same Seed behind the lever at the beginning of the lightning encounter. Quickly shoot the roots surrounding the Seed, which will complete the lightning encounter in the Chimney Dungeon in Remnant 2, disintegrating every enemy left over after they are destroyed.

Before you take off, approach the Seed and interact with it. You will collect a Heart Seed and hear your character talk about McCabe being able to do something with it. This will beat the Chimney Dungeon in Remnant 2.

Once you collect the Heart Seed and head back to Ward 13, you should speak to McCabe immediately. You should notice that a new mod is available to craft now; the Soulbinder mod. The Soulbinder mod required the Heart Seed to assemble, among other things:

  • Soulbinder Weapon Mod
    • 1x Heart Seed
    • 5x Lumenite Crystal
    • 650 x Scrap

The Soulbinder mod “fires a projectile that attaches to the enemy dealing 40 damage. Enemies within 7m become bound to the primary target after impact and share 60% of damage dealt to them. Lasts 15s.” The mod power requirement forSoulbinder is 650.

When you first make it back to Ward 13, you will likely notice that you have a new primary quest. This quest will require you to have McCabe craft a new mod for you, so it’s essential that you craft the Soulbinder mod at some point. The Soulbinder mod is best used on your secondary weapon, particularly when dealing with large groups of enemies. Since it links enemies together and deals a lot of damage to them all at once, it’s very helpful in sticky situations.
