This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

The seven-star Hisuian Samurott raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is upon us. Although the Pokemon is typically a Dark and Water-type, it will use a Water Tera Type. Because of this, its moves will hit harder to deal more damage than taking on the Pokemon by itself. Fortunately, once the raid is over, you’ll have the chance to catch Hisuian Samurott for yourself. To make that easier on you, however, we wrote out details of the raid including its movesets as well as the best strategies and counters.

Hisuian Samurott Movesets

All of Hisuian Samurott’s movesets are as follows:

  • Ceaseless Edge
    • The user slashes its shell blade at the target, aiming to land a critical hit. Shell splinters left behind by this attack remain scattered under the target as spikes.
  • X-Scissor
    • The user slashes at the target by crossing its scythes, claws, or the like as if they were a pair of scissors.
  • Razor Shell
    • The user cuts the target with sharp shells to inflict damage. This may also lower the target’s Defense stat.
  • Sacred Sword
    • The user attacks by slicing with a sword. The target’s stat changes don’t affect the damage inflicted by this move.
  • Focus Energy
    • The user takes a deep breath and focuses so that it’s future attacks have a heightened chance of landing critical hits.
  • Sword Dance
    • A frenetic dance to uplift the fighting spirit. This sharply boosts the user’s Attack stat.

Best HIsuian Samurott Strategies

The first thing you need to know about Hisuian Samurott is that while it can reset your stats several times throughout the battle, it can only reset its own once. It will also hit very hard and very often, with a high chance of dealing critical damage. The best strategy in this situation is to also hit just as hard and just as fast.

Unfortunately, this means that a lot of the fight is left up to chance and luck. Once you’ve successfully defeated it, you’ll be able to get the TM Swords Dance as well as the chance to catch Hisuian Samurott with the Mightiest Mark.
