The Rancor is almost a creature that needs no introduction, and this beast will certainly give players a hard time in Star Wars Jedi Survivor. This legendary creature has made numerous appearances in almost every form of Star Wars media. Games, films, comic books, and everything in between have had a Rancor appearance or two. This beast is an optional boss fight players can run into and one of the game’s most demanding. This guide will teach you how to beat the Rancor in Star Wars Jedi Survivor.
How To fight the Rancor in Star Wars Jedi Survivor
The boss fight against the Rancor is optional and isn’t required to complete the main story campaign. Before we can advise on how to take this boss down, we have to explain how to find it in the first place. After completing the prologue on Coruscant, players will end up in Koboh, a gigantic open-world environment and the central location of this game. As you head towards the primary quest location at Ramblers Reach Outpost, you will come across a prospector near the front entrance. Speak to her, and she will give you a rumor about miners stuck in a nearby cave.

Head to the location now marked on your map, which you can access by looking at your map. Inside these caves, you will find a sprawling network of platforms and creatures to take out. Everything is relatively smooth, but looks are deceiving. Near the end of the mine, you will find a meditation point overlooking a large clearing. Once you drop down, the Rancor boss fight will begin.
The Rancor boss fight is tough, and we suggest waiting until you have unlocked the Blaster stance before you take on this optional challenge. If you decide to tackle this creature early on, you must be very careful. The Rancor has two primary attacks you must look out for.
When you have some distance, the Rancor will glow red and charge right at you. Evade to the left or right to avoid this attack, and use a lightsaber throw (L1+Y or Triangle) to attack his back. While it’s tempting to move in and swing away, he follows up this charge with a spinning uppercut that can end the fight in one shot.
The most dangerous ability the Rancor throws at you is a series of stomps that will damage you if you remain on the ground. When it glows red and lifts its feet, double jump to avoid taking fatal damage. You can parry his standard attacks and whittle them down bit by bit. Show some patience, and you will easily beat the Rancor in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
