Sons of the Forest is here, and it brings the sweet elements people loved from the first game with some nice additions. So far, people have loved the new setting and companions. Even if Kelvin sometimes wrecks safe houses by accident, he’s still amazing. Speaking of safe houses, part of playing the sequel is finding a place to make a base and keep all your hard-earned discoveries. Just like the first game, the best place to create a base is on top of the trees. This offers a lot of safety while giving you a good place to rest and sleep before going off to explore. Today we’ll tell you how to build a tree house in Sons of the Forest.

How to build a tree house in Sons of the Forest

One of the aspects that have been improved since the first game launched is building. We all know that building in The Forest was fine and all, but it needed more blueprints to make some structures work. Sons of The Forest fixes this by adding more options for players to build. One of the best things is the tree shelters option that’ll be something you should prioritize when looking for a base. If you’ve found the right spot to lay low, let’s see what you need to build a tree house in Sons of the Forest:

  • Open your building interface by pressing the “B” key
  • Grab your notebook and go to building mode
  • Go to the Tree Shelters tab to find all the blueprints
  • Find a tree you want to build on and put the structure there
  • Bring the materials to finish the shelter

The building mechanic is pretty straight forwards as it’ll always tell you what you need to finish a structure. While you won’t be able to expand the base once it’s built, you’ll still have a safe spot way above enemies which is great. You can always build several tree houses and traverse to them but we recommend focusing on one at the start. As we’ve mentioned before, the best place to start a base is anywhere that has water close by. This will give you food and something to drink at all times. So, now that you know how to build a tree house in Sons of the Forest, get your trusty axe and start collecting logs because you’ll need a lot.
