Hogwarts Legacy is the game all Harry Potter fans have wanted for many years. Vast areas to explore, many mysteries to solve, and a fantastic wand mechanic that makes you feel like a true wizard. The game is also packed with different types of beasts, that players can take care of in their Room of Requirement. In some cases, you can find a shiny beast as well, so here is how to catch one in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to Catch a Shiny Beast in Hogwarts Legacy
After you’ve unlocked The Room of Requirement and also the Vivarium to bring and take care of beasts, you can catch different types of beasts in the vast world of Hogwarts Legacy.
All beasts that you can catch in Hogwarts Legacy have a male and female type, which is for breeding that you will unlock further in the game. But there is also the rare Shiny type that you might have encountered by chance.
The most important thing about catching a Shiny Beast in Hogwarts Legacy is to know that spawn of this type is by chance, and there is no certain location where you can catch one.
You can find Shiney type of beast in the same location as you can find any other beast. It’s just that you will have a smaller chance of encountering it. They also tend to flee much faster than normal beasts.
So if you want to make sure beasts don’t run, use the Disillusionment charm to make yourself invisible. Then look among the beasts to see if there is any Shiny beast. You can know if they are Shiny or not, by the little star next to their name.

Catching them is the same as other beasts. Use spells like Arresto Momentum, Glacius, or Levioso to slow them up, and use your Nab-sack to catch the beast.
Unfortunately, there is nothing special about Shiny Beasts apart from their unique appearance. You won’t get rare material or more material if you take care of them.
Hogwarts Legacy is now available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and will be released on April 4 for Xbox One and PS4, and July 25 for Nintendo Switch.
