Vanwyrm combines several valuable traits, making this Pal one of the most desirable mounts to get in Palworld. Not only can you use this Dark- and Fire-type Pal as a flying mount, but its special ability also increases the damage you deal when striking enemy weak points. That makes Vanwyrm ideal for aerial sniping and capturing tricky Pals by surprise. It also makes this Pal a good pick if you’re looking to vent some built-up Pokemon frustration with some poaching. Whether you’re a would-be sniper or just want a sweet-looking bird to cruise the skies, here’s what you need to know about how to catch Vanwyrm in Palworld.
Palworld Vanwyrm Guide
Vanwyrm’s natural habitat extends across a couple of islands, as seen in the image above. Arguably the best place to find Vanwyrm is to the west of the Ravine Entrance fast travel point. This area (designated by the smaller circle in the image above) can be accessed soon after starting the game. As a Fire- and Dark-Type Pal, Vanwyrm is strong against Grass and Neutral, so avoid bringing Pals of that Type. Vanwyrm’s best counters are Water- and Dragon-Type Pals. Although Vanwyrm doesn’t have great Work Suitabilities, skills like Ignis Blast and Ignis Breath make this fiery Pal well worth catching.

Palworld Starter GuideGetting Vanwyrm in Palworld is great, but this Pal really shows its value once you learn how to mount and fly it. To do so you’ll need to craft a Vanwyrm Saddle at the Pal Gear Workbench. This saddle is unlocked at Level 21 on the tech tree. To craft it you’ll need the following resources:
- Leather x20
- Flame Organ x10
- Ingot x15
- Fiber x30
- Paldium Fragment x20
Once you’ve crafted a Vanwyrm Saddle, just summon Vanwyrm from your party with “E” and then hold “F” to mount it.
Palworld is available for PC in early access.
