The big focus around The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s release was on the sky. With islands being lifted into the air, those new portions of the map were very notable. That said, you can also head underground and deal in the pitch-black darkness of the Depths. An early side quest will have you doing this. Here is how to complete Camera Work in the Depths in Tears of the Kingdom.
How To Complete Camera Work in the Depths in Tears of the Kingdom
To find the starting point for the Camera Work in the Depths mission, you must first complete Crisis at Hyrule Castle. You can speak to Robbie and Josha underneath Purah’s lab when that is done. Josha wants to investigate the Depths, but Robbie won’t let her. Instead, he says he’ll go with your protection and teach you how to use your camera.
After the conversation, head to the marked point on the map. The Jiosin shrine is here for you to complete and a large hole to jump into for this mission. Hop down and pull out your glider before you hit the ground.
At the bottom, talk to the scientist to learn that Robbie wandered into the dark alone. You will be pointed to his campfires and an odd glow nearby. Before you go any further, ensure you have at least a few Brightbloom Seeds. These can be found in dark places and caves. Fuse it with an Arrow and shoot it to create good light sources.
When you start to look for Robbie, make your way to the odd glow in the dark. This is a Lightroot, a new Tears of the Kingdom feature to look out for in the Depths. Interact with it to create a large area of light that you can fast-travel to.
From the Lightroot, head west/southwest, and you will see a rock near a river of bloom. Don’t step into this stuff, or you will lose access to some hearts. Instead, jump off the rock and glide over. On the other side is a camp; you should start seeing another Lightroot in the distance. You need to get over there but beware of enemies along the way.

When you reach the next Lightroot, you will find Robbie camped out here. Interact with the Lightroot so you can see and talk to him. He will show you a statue he found and unlock your Camera and Hyrule Compendium. Take a picture of the statue.
After you have your picture, you must talk to Josha at Lookout Landing. You can pull up your map and fast-travel there. Do this, and you will get some Zonaite for your troubles.
