After escaping from the Pagoda Realm, you will return to the mainland by riding on the back of a giant turtle. Although you can immediately search for the Snake General, you should take your time exploring this area to find friendly NPCs. One of them is a dragon called Chen Loong, who can give you a new side quest in Black Myth: Wukong. This immortal can be found standing on the beach near the Keeper’s Shrine, muttering to himself.
Black Myth: Wukong Dragon Chen Loong Quest Guide
To start Chen Loong’s quest in Black Myth: Wukong, you need to find the dragon standing in the water near the beach. Some players may miss him since he kind of blends in with the environment. Your new companion, Zhu Bajie, will comment about an immortal when you get near him, so make sure you look toward the sea to find this old dragon.
When you approach Chen Loong, the dragon will become agitated and start attacking you. He has a Lightning element and will send projectiles to you. The battle is not that challenging, but you may have trouble landing hits sometimes since he loves to fly away from you.
How To Get Xu Dog’s Medicine
After you defeat Chen Loong, the dragon will become sad and then claim that he’ll die unless he gets medicine from Xu Dog. This is another friendly NPC that you can encounter in Chapter 2. Most players may have already met this immortal. If you haven’t, here’s what you need to do:
- Defeat the frog Yaoguai called Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw.
- Speak with Xu Dog nearby.
- Defeat the Tiger Vanguard story boss.
- Meet Xu Dog at Crouching Tiger Temple Cellar.
You will encounter Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw when you first arrive at this desert zone. On the other hand, Tiger Vanguard is a story boss that you must defeat to progress the story. Either way, you will unlock Xu Dog as a merchant at the end of Chapter 2.
To complete Chen Loong’s quest in Black Myth: Wukong, you need to select the Talk option when speaking with Xu Dog. If this is the first time you talk to him, the Immortal will give you a Mind Core. Speak to Xu Dog again to obtain a medicine prescription and the quest item.
Once you have the medicine, deliver it to Chen Loong, who will give you the Ruyi Scroll. This magical item will take you to a secret realm where you can meet with the Zodiac Immortals, who will offer various services to you. Here are some NPCs you can meet here:

- Xu Dog
- Shen Monkey
- Yin Tiger
Out of everyone, Yin Tiger is the most interesting since this guy will allow you to upgrade your gear. You can also speak with Chen Loong and give him your seeds so he can take care of the plants. After you rest at a few Shrines, you can return to harvest the plants for free.
