Dead Island 2 is brimming with fantastic side quests that offer marvelous rewards. Dez and the Mother of Satan is one such quest in Dead Island 2, however, players are given little to no instructions at all. This has created overall confusion in the zombie-smashing community. Of course, if you don’t want to take on the quest, you don’t need to, as it is not mandatory, but you will miss a great weapon mod. This guide will show you how to complete Dez and the Mother of Satan quest in Dead Island 2 and what rewards await you after the completion.
Dead Island 2: Dez and the Mother of Satan Quest Guide
Before you can start this quest in the first place, you need to complete Boz Makes a Bang, which is yet another side quest in Dead Island 2.
You will receive a radio call from Hana, who will share her worries about Dez. She will say that she hasn’t heard from Dez for quite some time now. Further on, Hana will tell you that Dez is on a mission for some chemicals that are quite reactive and are found in a CDC camp near The Pier. Once your talk with Hana ends, Dez and the Mother of Satan side quest will automatically begin.
Once the quest starts, you must journey towards The Pier and track down the CDC camp. As you draw closer to the CDC camp, you will hear an ear-splitting explosion. This is how you will know that you are on the right path. Stay alert as you continue down the path to the explosion source as a band of 8-10 zombies is ahead, ready to take away your every gene. You can sprint past them and avoid the frustrating fight or engage in combat and eliminate them. This is just one part of the Dez and the Mother of Satan in Dead Island 2.
As you continue your journey, you will find Dez on the CDC dome’s balcony. However, the area is swarming with more zombies, and Dez is behind locked doors. Once you clear the area, talk to Dez. Dez will reveal to you her recent experiments with a grenade launcher, but she requires your aid to lure a handful of zombies into the camp for testing purposes. Since you’re on the front line, you’ll be tasked with dispatching any incoming zombies while Dez unleashes her grenade launcher upon them from the security of the scaffold.
Retrieving the Mother of Satan for Dez
Your battle should be far easier if you have explosives on you. Anyways, once you have annihilated the incoming zombies, talk with Dez once again, and she will share the next objective with you in the Dez and Mother of Satan side quest in Dead Island 2.
She’ll plead with you to retrieve some zombie goop and triacetone triperoxide, playfully referred to as the Mother of Satan. Go to the Quartermaster Dome and follow the hallway, where you will stumble upon a collectible record on a machine. Unfortunately for you and other players, it’s a trap! The floor is electrified. Jump across to get the record. You can also pull the battery out of the generator outside. Once you collect it, you will learn the whereabouts of the triacetone triperoxide. Go back to Dez to share the new insights.
Dez is now in the main dome, and to reach it is quite a task. Watch out for Zombies that come at you and the electrified sections in the dome. Dez is on the balcony, and the floor below is overrun by zombies. Help Dez clear out the area. There will be a number of different Zombies there, from Standard Shamblers and Walkers to Firefighter Walkers, Shocking Walkers, hazmat Walkers, and Shocking Runners. However, the biggest threat to your well-being here is the Voltaic Screamer called Subject: Juliet, which you will need to kill to complete the Dez and the Mother of Satan in Dead Island 2. Explosives do magic here, while a shotgun is also a useful weapon in this fight.
Once you annihilate all the undead, talk to Dez and you will get an incoming call from Hana. You will learn from her about a lock box in the Lotusville Mall. However, the main reward here is the superior melee Electrocutor mod. Additionally, you get 4,500XP.
Congratulations, you have completed the Dez and the Mother quest in Dead Island 2.
