The Excavation DMZ mission is the last assignment of the Tier 3 Redacted faction in Warzone 2. Completing this mission rewards you with an operator skin and a massive 20K XP to progress! However, the objectives that you have to complete to finish this mission are about tricky locations to find. Here’s a quick guide on how to accomplish the Excavation DMZ mission in Warzone 2.
What Are The Objectives of Excavation DMZ Mission
- Find the sniper team’s notes.
- Pick three tracking devices from the dead drop.
- Plant 3 tracking devices in locations.
The Redacted faction was added to the Call of Duty: Warzone 2 DMZ mode in Season 3 to bring in new missions and rewards. However, only 3 Tiers of it are available until the mid-season update. The Excavation is the last Tier 3 mission you can complete for now. This mission tasks you to pick and read the sniper team’s note. The sniper team is the one you have to loot their nest in the Left High And Dry Tier 2 mission.

You need to go to the location above in Al-Mazrah City and find an item called the “Sniper’s Team’s Note” on the rooftop. This note gives you the place of a dead drop with three trackers.
The dead drop containing the trackers is in the Al-Bagra right in the image above. Pick them, and you can continue your mission.
Using a chopper for the Excavation DMZ mission is suggested, as the locations you must travel to are far from each other. The first two locations to place the tracker are in Al-Mazrah City. Go to the site shown above, and you’ll find a bridge between Taraq Village and Al-Mazrah City. Next, you need to go under the bridge to find a destroyed gate. Go inside, and you’ll find a wall with two circles on it. Plant the tracker here.
For the second one, you must go south the Al-Mazrah City inside the parking lot in the image above. Inside, you’ll see some stairs toward a new location added to the map. Here you’ll find another wall with signs on it on which you can plant the tracker.
Now for the last tracker planting mission in the Excavation DMZ mission in Warzone 2, you must go to the Rohan Oil area. This place is located in the north, and the image above shows the exact location where you need to plant the last device to complete your mission. Remember that the last location is also underground, so you should go under Rohan Oil’s bridge to find the final wall.
