Operation Deadbolt starts with many tests for your new gadgets in MW3 Zombies mode. In the first two tiers of Act I, you’ll learn how to become a zombie slayer and use new items, such as the Cryo Freeze ammo mod in MWZ. The Freezer Burn MWZ mission requires you to find the Cryo Freeze ammo mod and slow the undead.
What Are The Freezer Burn MWZ Mission Objectives?

- Slow 50 zombies with Cryo Freeze ammo.
- Slow 10 hellhounds with Cryo Freeze ammo.
You need to obtain a Cryo Freeze ammo mod for the Freezer Burn MWZ mission; then, start killing zombies with the perk equipped on one of your weapons. When you shoot zombies with this ammo mod, they’ll freeze for a few seconds, and you can kill them easier that way.
After that, wander around and find 10 of those hellish undead dogs that attack you with fire. Put some ice on their skin with your Cryo Freeze shots, and the Freezer Burn MWZ mission will be complete.
How To Get Cryo Freeze Ammo in MWZ
- Take Up Arms Mission
Once you finish the Take Up Arms mission in the MW3 Zombies, you’ll gain a Cryo Freeze ammo mod as a reward. You can find this item in your gear stash before starting the game.
- Elemental Pop Machines
The Elemental Pop machines are one of the interactable perk-giving builds in the MWZ. You can reach out to one of these on each match and pay 2000 points to buy a random ammo type. And if you’re lucky, you’ll earn a Cryo Freeze ammo to finish the Freezer Burn MWZ mission.
- Aether Nests
This is by far the best way to find any ammo mod you’re looking for in the MWZ. Once deployed, check your map for any nearby Aether Nest, and clear it out by shooting the yellow glowing eyes in it. After that, you can claim your rewards from the chests inside the area containing at least one type of ammo mod.
You can also craft the Cryo Freeze if you’ve found its related schematic. However, it is totally random and based on luck by completing missions and contracts on the map. After you’ve gained the ammo and killed enough zombies and hellhounds, the Freezer Burn MWZ mission is complete.
