To accept the Lost in the Dunes side quest, you must travel to the hot and dangerous Gerudo Desert region. Go northeast of Gerudo Town to the small oasis of Kara Kara Bazaar and find two Traveler NPCs. You can talk to Benja and Robsten in the southwestern part of the location under the palm trees near the lake. These NPCs are very excited and look out for something in the distance, and after talking to them, you will accept the Lost in the Dunes side quest.
Talking with Benja and Robsten, you will learn that their friend Ponthos went to the desert and did not return. They ask you to find it and bring it back. - Next, jump into the sand whirlpool to enter the Oasis Source.
