With this guide, you’ll be well-equipped to complete Percival Rackham’s Trial in Hogwarts Legacy with finesse and wizardly expertise.

One of Hogwarts Legacy’s most fascinating features is the inclusion of Trials, a series of challenges that students must overcome to progress through their Hogwarts education. These trials will test the player’s magical abilities, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. In addition, they will provide a unique and immersive gameplay experience.

You’ll make your way to the tower right above Hogsmeade to embark on Rackham’s trials. Employ the Disillusionment spell for stealth and Petrificus Totalus spell for takedowns on foes in ruins. After vanquishing the Goblins and Loyalist Assassin, snoop around the left tent for a letter from the main baddie himself. Then, cross the bridge on the opposing side to access the coiling staircase, where you’ll encounter the portrait of Percival Rackham’s Trial in Hogwarts Legacy.

He alerts you to an activated Ancient Magic reservoir in need of investigation. Descend the stairs and identify the Ancient Magic hotspot inside the tower’s entryway to unlock the archway to Percival Rackham’s Trial.

Rackham’s Trial involves investigating Ancient Magic spots to create bridges and portals to progress through the Trial. The Trial includes puzzle platforming sections and battles with Pensieve Protectors and Sentinels. The goal is to defeat enemies, loot chests, and cross bridges to reach the end of the Trial. Accio is a helpful spell to have equipped during the Trial to summon floating platforms and drag oneself toward different sections.

How to Defeat the Pensive Guardian

At this point, you can almost complete Percival Rackham’s Trial in Hogwarts Legacy. After defeating the enemies, the player must fight a gigantic Pensieve Guardian by hitting it with Ancient Magic and destroying the orb it summons. Once defeated, the player can view Rackham’s memory in a room with a Pensieve and a large chest.

Hogwarts Legacy is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo.
