How To Complete Rooftop Fireworks in Spider-Man 2

Spiders and fireworks aren’t usually a great combination, but this is an exception.

The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man App is a new feature introduced in Spider-Man 2. The app, which players will help set up during the game’s intro sequence, offers side quests that can be discovered by swinging through New York. The side quests, or FNSM requests, can be a nice break from the action-heavy main story questline, and you get to help out ordinary citizens along the way. It’s a win-win. One FNSM request, “Rooftop Fireworks,” can be found and completed within the Little Odessa district.

The “Rooftop Fireworks” request can be found in the center of Little Odessa, on the eastern side of the map. In order to activate the request, open the FNSM app by swiping left on the controller’s touchpad, then select the mission from the requests list. Like any other request, you can play this mission as either Miles or Peter without having it affect the gameplay in any way.

After you select the mission, a new FNSM request marker will appear on your map, and Spider-Man will explain that someone’s setting off fireworks without a permit. Go to the request marker in Little Odessa and follow the fireworks to the roof of an apartment building, where you’ll find two men – Mike and Henry – gathered around a fireworks launcher.

As soon as you land on the roof, you’ll start talking to Mike and Henry, but before you can get very far, your Spidey-Sense will activate – press circle to dodge as the fireworks launcher explodes. Unfortunately, Mike and Henry weren’t so lucky: Mike is injured and unconscious, and you must get him to a hospital fast.

To pick Mike up, approach him and press Triangle. With your new passenger on board, leave the rooftop and swing northeast towards a new quest marker 500 meters away. Along the way, Mike explains that he and Henry were setting off the fireworks in honor of their dead brother, Lex.

Once you reach the hospital, land in front of the building and deposit Mike onto a waiting stretcher by pressing Triangle again. As you drop him off, a short cutscene will play where Mike recommends that you check out the place where they got the fireworks in the first place, a warehouse on the docks of Little Odessa.

Leave the hospital and head east towards the new marker on your map. Follow it, and you’ll arrive at a warehouse stocked with both fireworks and criminals.

A short cutscene will play as you arrive, but after it ends, zip forward to perch on a metal beam above a walkway with two criminals. Wait for them to be alone on the walkway, then lure the first one over, hit him with a perch takedown, then get his buddy as he comes over to investigate.

It’s possible to take out some of the other enemies by perching on the streetlights scattered around the area, but the most straightforward way to clear the warehouse is to engage them in combat. These criminals are pretty run-of-the-mill, as far as Spider-Man 2 enemies are concerned, so they’re not hard to take down so long as you dodge the bullets and watch out for the big brutes.

After all of the criminals have been defeated, you’ll discover that a box of fireworks is lit, and you need to get it in the river before it explodes. Press L1 + R1 to throw the box, then spam R1 to web up the box. The sparks from the resulting fireworks have ignited two more boxes, so repeat the process and toss each box into the river.

Throw the fireworks into the river and web up the boxes.

Once all the fireworks have been taken care of, Henry will call you back. One short conversation later, you’ll have officially completed the “Rooftop Fireworks” FNSM quest in Spider-Man 2, awarding you 600 XP, 2 Hero Tokens, and 200 Tech Points. You’ll also gain progress in Little Odessa, which is useful if you’re trying to unlock the next district reward.
